Meditation weekend on the subject of joy with Stephen Fulder and Eran Harpaz

15/10/2015 to 17/10/2015
Event category:
Start time: Thursday 00:00
End time: Saturday 23:59
With Stephen Fulder and Eran Harpaz
Location: Ein-Dor

Joy and contentment, are usually so brief, and so passing. We come down from the mountain back to the market place. We always end up losing what we have. The great night ends with the morning headache. Or as Jack Kornfield writes: 'After the ecstacy, the laundry'.

The reason is that the joys are dependent on a set of conditions, and when the conditions change the joy vanishes. But can we experience joy that is independent of conditions? That is, a 'default' deep happiness that nothing can steal from us?

In this weekend we will learn and practice two basic directions. One is the identification and release of the friction and resistance that prevents us from being contented. The second is learning to listen in quietness and sensitivity to the joyful dance of life within and around us.

    • Arrival to Ein-Dor between 15:00 and 16:30 for organazing and registating/ The course will end on Saturday, at 18:00.

    • The retreat is suited for people that had sat at least one week long scilent retreats, or 2 weekends.

Volunteering

Tovana is a non-profit organizatino which is mostly based on volunteers. Trough out the year, about 200 people are volunteering on different courses in Ein-Dor, and about 50 people are volunteering in fixed roles. For creating the couses and their success, a lot of volunteers are needed as kitchen staff, management of the kitchen and the course. An enriching practice that form a beidge between sitting on the pillow, and practice in daily life. The kitchen staff and course management are practicing a service retreat side by side of the rest of the participants. You're invited to volunteer and practice while doing.

Your are invited for a practice of "service retreat": an opportunity to combinr meditation while doing and giving as a Sangha:
